Vampyr

This could be the worst DVD I’ve ever seen.  The print looked like it had been through a few wars — scratches and dust all over the place.  The sound quality was terrible.  There was no menu to speak of, just chapter stops, and a short unceremoniously tacked on at the end (some stop-motion animation thing, I didn’t bother with it).  Worst of all were the subtitles.  When they were present (and much of the dialogue went untranslated) they were gigantic black boxes with hideous gothic white lettering.

So the experience was hampered by a lousy presentation, but it was still pretty good.  A lot of freaky stuff going on in this movie, even though some of it made no sense at all.  I’d definitely watch it again on a better DVD.  Rating: 7
