Night and the City (rewatch)

I’ve reviewed this before, and frankly I’m running out of ways to gush over assorted noir pictures. This is yet another one that I like a lot more now that I’ve got a taste for the genre, and more appreciation for Richard Widmark. I only like Gene Tierney in small doses, and thankfully she has a pretty small part here. Much better is Googie Withers (what a name!) in the femme fatale role. This is one of the darker noirs: everyone loses. Rating: 9
