The crime boss is cornered in his shabby apartment, dreaming the cops are waiting outside. His sons and daughters have their guns at the ready. Daddy makes them put on their box-spark shoes and throw their weapons down the incinerator chute, creating fireworks as the bullets explode. Then the lads line up at the holes in the wall, because it’s time for grandpa to give them some ghostly fellatio. Glorious! Glorious! I don’t know what the fuck this is, it’s pretty far out there even for Maddin. It’s got his usual sense of humor though. The gun/phallus sex/violence thing is a bit played out, but at least it’s done in a funny way and is kind of a neat exercise in noir stylization. At a mere 12 minutes, it’s worth watching just for the unique experience. Still, it’s no Heart of the World. Rating: Good
